21CSLA Offerings

LAEP’s 21CSLA program is open to educational leaders in the counties of San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Imperial, and San Diego.

Communities of Practice

Our CoPs use continuous improvement principles to address problems of practice among role-alike colleagues. CoPs will be confirmed in the fall when the needs of our Collective are confirmed. Some examples of CoPs in the works are:

  • LGBTQIA+ Leaders CoP
  • Serving Black Youth CoP   
  • Critical Whiteness CoP
  • ‘ataaxum Pomkwaan CoP
  • Male-Identifying Leaders of Color CoP
  • Talking about Race as a Healing Practice CoP with WestEd
  • New Administrators CoP
  • Instructional Coaches for Equity CoP

Most will be offered in six 90-minute sessions between January 24 and April 1, 2024.

Exploring Liberatory Leadership: Boundaries, Authority, Roles, and Task (BART) with Dr. Jaime Romo

Who: School/district leader teams 

Where: TBD

When: Two full, back-to-back days in early 2024; dates TBD

What: Educational leaders will be able to: A) analyze the interplay of authority, identity, and relationships in leadership; B) surface and address issues related to identity and positionality in their work; C) examine issues of trust and hierarchy so that all participants can fully engage; D) brainstorm systems of program feedback that inform their community of practice offerings; E) distinguish between individual and group processes;  F) demonstrate new skills in group decision making, roles and norms, communication networks, group goals, conflict management and group development.

Individualized Coaching

21CSLA offers 25 hours of individualized leadership coaching for district, site, and teacher leaders. Coaching is built on relational trust and focused on equity-centered problems of practice using continuous improvement principles.
