Thoughts from Gregg

I was raised in Canoga Park and remember passing the Sepulveda dam often as we traveled on the US 101 or 405. I was always impressed with this structure as it is a landmark for enterance into the San Fernando valley. While traveling to and from Rosemead we would pass griffith park and the river as it went through Glendale. The bridges were always interesting as well as the railroad tracks we saw as we passed by Glendale. From inside the car we would try to see the "cats" on the side of the river. The metal doors for pipes entering the river had hinges which looked like cat ears. This was fun to see the various colors and faces each was painted with. each had a different look, some were colored pink or white, but mostly they had white features on the black door.

Now I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rivers here are much more of the traditional type.

Thanks again for your interest in my thoughts.
Gregg.
