Tarweed




Tarweed is a member of the Composite family. Its scientific name is Madia sativa. It is stout and erect. It grows from 10-30 inches in height. It has clustered, rayshaped flowers that are yellow and in groups of 6 to 10. Night bloomers the seed are rich and oily and were once used for food.
