| Also called Silkweed, its scientific name is Asclepias speciosa. It is simple and stout and bears an abundant milky juice. Its leaves are oval or oblong and opposite. It has perfect, symmetrical flowers and a five parted calyx. Its sweetness attracts files, bees, butterflies and moths, but many will die imprisoned by their greed for its sweet nectar. | |
