Materials: Protractor, straight edge or rulers, pencil, access to a Virtual Field Trip, and topographic map of Griffith Park

  1. Locating Travel Town

    Begin the Virtual Field Trip to Griffith Park
    Select Geologic Field Trip
    Select Site 1

    Go to Field Study Site 1 in the Top Menu

    Select Site 1 in the Middle Menu

    Select Location of Site in the Main Window

    Select Plotting a Location on a Topographic Map

    Read the direction on using compass bearings to plot locations on a topographic map.

    Use the Compass Reading For Travel Town to locate Travel Town on your topographic map.

  2. Locating Site 1

    Go to Field Study Site 1 in the Top Menu
    Select Site 1 in the Middle Menu
    Select Location of Site in the Main Window

    Use the Compass Reading for Site 1 to locate Site 1 on your topographic map.
