Introduction to the School and the Team
Sunrise is a relatively young school. Established in 1984, Sunriseformally was an alternative high school for young men. Our campusis unique due to its large grassy play area, its garden, gymnasium, andit proximity and accessabilty to the East Los Angeles Science Center.The project inquiry team is comprised of five teachers varying in gradelevels and areas of expertise.
- Teresa Gonzales is a special education teacher with 21 years of experience.
- Alex Pachano is a bilingual teacher with 11 years of experience.
- Norma Pesqueira is a first grade bilingual teacher and has been in theprofession for 28 years.
- Ron Rodriquez is a 12 year veteran of bilinqual education and also is theUTLA repersenative and currently teaches special education.
- Sherri Salmans is a monolinqual teacher with 22 years of experience andis currently teaching second grade.
- Lastly, Erica Solorzano is a recent graduate from the University of California,Berkeley and is currently teaching first and second grade.
