Project Inquiry 3 -  Birds in the City

Wadsworth Avenue Elementary School is a LEARN School operating on a year-round Concept 6 calendar. Current enrollment in grades Pre K-5 is over 1,700 students.  The school student population consists of 85% Latino students and 15% African American students.

Background
Project Pigeon Watch is a world wide research project which collaborates with inner city schools.  The purpose of the project is to help scientists solve the phenomena of  color variation among pigeons.  It consists of students who observe and collect data on pigeons  then send the data back to the Cornell Lab of Orinthology.

Objective
Students will observe and collect data on pigeon coloration, as well as their feeding and nesting habits on and around the school campus.
