QUESTION

Will more birds be attracted to birdseed feeders in the kindergarden garden or the schoolyard garden?

 

HYPOTHESIS

More birds will go to the more isolated location: The schoolyard garden.

PROCEDURES

Make birdseed feeders and hang the same number of birdfeeders in each garden. The first grade class and the first/second grade combination class will put the feeders up in the schoolyard garden. The kindergarden classes and the kindergarden/first grade combination class will put birdseed feeders in the kindergarden yard garden. The classes will observe the birds in each garden at 9:00am and record their count of each bird on their worksheets. Each day the students will keep a record of the birds they count on a class tally point graph posted for two weeks.
