Early Childhood Services
LAEP can build the capacity of an organization to implement any of the following services for a fee
Home Visitation – Early childhood educators visit family homes to help parents become their child’s first teachers. Activities are designed to promote language and cognitive development that builds physical, social and emotional skills and modeled on quality preschool practices. Nutrition and wellness education also provided for families. Available for children 0-5, including all children with special needs and pregnant mothers. Our staff is bilingual (English and Spanish), culturally sensitive, hired from local communities, CPR/First Aid certified, and trained in developmentally appropriate practices.
Childcare – Developmentally enriching childcare for children 0-5 modeled on quality preschool practices and includes activities to promote language and cognitive development that builds physical, social and emotional skills. Childcare is provided for workshops, meetings, conferences and other activities/events in greater Los Angeles including all the necessary supplies. Children are in a safe environment and are treated with respect. Our staff is bilingual (English and Spanish), CPR/First Aid certified, and trained in developmentally appropriate practices.
Educational Playgroups – introduce children 0-5 to peer interactions through developmentally enriched play activities that teach children important social and emotional skills such as sharing, communication. Playgroups also promote language and cognitive development which prepares children for preschool and kindergarten. Our staff is bilingual (English and Spanish), CPR/First Aid certified, and trained in developmentally appropriate practices.
Parent Workshops – Staff can facilitate or train facilitators to lead parent workshops. Our topics include Common Core, best practices in early childhood education, nutrition, health & wellness, communicating with your children, oral & dental care, and do-at-home early childhood crafts.
School Readiness Guide – Early childhood development manual perfect for parents and caretakers who teach young children important skills in critical domain areas such as large and small motor development, communication and pre-reading and math. Guide also provides related arts and crafts and movement activities.
Community Action/Social Network Groups – Our community outreach staff can facilitate or train facilitators for neighborhood action or support groups involving parents with the objective of encouraging discussion between groups and empowering community voices. Staff is bilingual (English and Spanish).
