Strategic Leadership
Urban Education Partnership works with education leaders to develop and build the skills necessary to succeed in complex environments.
Education leaders are critical levers in driving school performance and student achievement. Demands on education leaders have grown more complex, requiring them to successfully interact with multiple constituencies in order to align fiscal, political and instructional expectations with a vision of school performance and student learning.
Strategic leaders excel because they are equipped to leverage their knowledge, skills and positional authority to influence outcomes through informed, purposeful and deliberate means that give substance to a vision for student learning.
Initiatives include:
- School Leadership Institute: Trains and mentors potential school principals and those interested in other school and district leadership positions. - California Institute for School Boards: Provides newly elected or appointed school board members with innovative training and mentoring that focuses on the theory and quality practice of urban school districts in California and the policy-level roles and responsibilities of newly elected urban school board members.
- Urban Learning CentersGovernance & Management: A comprehensive model for the development of K-12 learning communities to meet the needs of the children in urban communities across the United States. ULC's Governance and Management design component offers confidential, personalized coaching to principals and provides professional development for school administrators.
