OUR MISSION
The Urban Education Partnership’s mission is to help students in high-need schools improve their academic achievement through collaborative partnerships with educators, parents and the community.

We focus our efforts on two areas that positively impact student achievement: transforming schools to create more effective teaching and learning environments and connecting parents and communities to schools to overcome learning barriers.

OUR COMMUNITY
Founded in 1984 as the Los Angeles Educational Partnership, our agency, now the Urban Education Partnership, became one of the first educational-transformation organization in Los Angeles and among those at the forefront of the movement nationwide. Each year, we serve more than 1,600 educators and 80,000 students from prekindergarten through high school in high-poverty, multicultural communities across Los Angeles County.

On October 15 - 21, 2007 the Partnership joined forces with the Public Education Network and over 80 other local education funds across the country in Give Kids Good Schools Week, a national campaign to guarantee a quality public education for every child in the nation. Through more than 120 activities in 22 states and the District of Columbia, the campaign provided Americans with information and tools they need to take action in their communities and improve their public schools. Thousands of students, parents and community members participated in the Week's events to help make a difference for public schools.
