We work both outside of schools to engage parents and community, and within schools as a collaborative partner, bringing ideas, resources and expertise to ensure that underserved students have the resources and support they need to succeed. Our efforts foster excellent schools, great teachers, and engaged communities. Please join us in pursuit of excellence in Los Angeles area schools.

Humanitas Getty Exhibit a Success

Tuesday, November 29 2011 13:49

Students from four LAUSD high schools will exhibit their artwork at the J. Paul Getty Museum on Saturday, December 3, 2011 as part of a special collaboration between the Humanitas Initiative at Los Angeles Education Partnership (LAEP), 826LA and the Museum’s Education department. The project was undertaken as part of the region-wide exhibition Pacific Standard Time: Crosscurrents in L.A. Painting and Sculpture 1950-1970.

250 participating students worked closely with the Getty Museum’s Education Department to create works inspired by the themes in Pacific Standard Time and the permanent collection. Mediums include photography, dance, film, and assemblage, created by Humanitas students. For a reviewe for LAUSD's "Journal" magazine, click here.
