Instructional Technology Coordinator
The Organization
The Los Angeles Educational Partnership is a collaborative education fund established to mobilize the private sector to reform public education in the Los Angeles area. Working with educators, and with business and community leaders, it is involved in efforts to improve public schools through reform and restructuring of the public education system.
The Position
The Instructional Technology Coordinator will establish Internet connectivity and provide teacher training in usage of the Internet, as well as desktop publishing and multimedia applications, assist teachers in aligning standards and curriculum frameworks with the use of technology, and make presentations at workshops and conferences. This position will work within schools and children's centers in the South Central area of Los Angeles.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Teaching certification, elementary or secondary.
- High-level computer and Internet experience.
- Experience in using the World Wide Web, search engines and other Internet tools (e.g., Archie, FTP, USENET and Gopher) to conduct research and inquiry based activities.
- A strong background in use of word processing, spread sheet, databases and multimedia applications to meet instructional needs.
- Experience training teachers, particularly at the elementary level.
- Knowledge of Windows and/or Macintosh operating systems.
- Knowledge of Windows NT preferred.
Compensation
Compensation is dependent upon experience and credentials.
