What They Will Do

Principal for a Day participants are telling us they had a terrific experience. Here is sample of what they are saying they will do to help out schools:

Christian Andrews, International Creative Management, plans to help the school raise money to refurbish its library.

Jane Berliner, Creative Artists Agency, is giving the school her laptop computer and working with colleagues and friends to bring people into the school to read books.

Barri Evins, Debra Hill Productions, expects to donate books to the school library.

Chris Fenton, William Morris Agency, will participate in a Career Day.

Susan Fleishman, Universal Studios, is working on ways to supply rewards/awards for the students who reach graduation and is planning Career Days for Universal executives to speak to kids.

Jeffrey Field, William Morris Agency, expects to help get computer equipment, increase arts education.

David Gale, MTV Pictures, is sending people to the school's Career Day, arranging visits to TV show tapings, working on getting stage sound and lighting equipment.

Jeffrey Isaccs, U.S. Attorney's Office, expects to help organize field trips.

Chuck James, Gersh Agency, is arranging to take students to a dress rehearsal of Midsummer Night's Dream.

Alan Jonas, Jonas & Associates, has taken two big bundles of children's books for the new library and is working to help the school acquire desperately needed parking space for staff and parents as well as playground equipment and other facility improvements.

Gayle Miller, President (retired) Anne Klein Company, spoke to the Fashion and Art classes combined and offered to speak again.

Rita Moya, National Health Foundation, expects to help with the school's Healthy Start program and advise on their Internet connection. She also is working on providing jackets for low income kids in need.

David Mumford, Sony Pictures Entertainment, expects to offer computer assistance. Jose Robledo, Los Angeles Harbor College, is working to develop a schedule of activities between the high school and Harbor College to facilitate transition for high school students to community college.

John Schimmel, Bel Air Entertainment, is working to get some video equipment for the auditorium.

William Skrzyniarz, entertainment lawyer, has volunteered to give at least two talks - one to the student body about overcoming obstacles and one to a drama class to which he expects to bring a writer and actor as well.

Van Spurgeon, Tin Roof Pictures, plans to go back to view the school's drama society.

Harry Usher, The Jaust Group, would like to help the school provide a physical education program.

Ken Williams, Sony Pictures Entertainment, is looking into programs with the school's Digital Academy to help students see animation as a realistic career.

Doug Yates, Fox Family Worldwide, plans to visit events and provide the school with premiums and prizes for the kids.

David Ysais, KNX Radio, will participate, along with others from the station, in Career Day and will bring kids to the station.

A number of Principal for a Day participants already partner with the schools they visited and found their visits instructive in learning more about the schools and what they need.
