The Hart Museum, which sits atop a hill within a large park, was the home of William S. Hart, a cowboy star of silent films. The mansion contains original furnishings, an impressive collection of western art, mementos of early Hollywood, and Native American artifacts. Classes can also explore a nature trail, observe live farm animals, and search for a herd of bison which occupies part of the range area of the ranch. A 30 minute house tour is provided for 4th grade and up. A shorter tour and story telling are available for younger students. In addition, a furnished 1910 ranch house is open for unguided tours. Pre-visit information and activity sheets are available, and there are picnic facilities in the surrounding park.
