The primary scientific activities of the Society are the publication of the Journal of Biological Chemistry and an annual Scientific Meeting. A wide variety of educational activities are organized and conducted under the supervision of various Society committees, which include Educational Resources; Professional Development, Mentoring and Employment; and outreach. ASBMB maintains three types of membership; regular, associate, and corporate. The Society also offers a free career brochure entitled "Unlocking Life's Secrets" to students and teachers for use in exploring career opportunities in biochemistry and molecular biology.
