Local programs, the Division of Chemical Education, Inc., other ACS divisions, and the staff of the Education Division in Washington have all contributed to improving the teaching and learning of chemistry. The programs of the Education Division are directed toward young people learning introductory chemistry and other sciences; college students majoring in the chemical sciences; chemistry teachers at all levels; practitioners of the discipline; and members of the general public. The Division publishes curricular materials, newsletters, magazines, career brochures, and science education policy guidelines; organizes competitions, teacher in-service workshops, symposia, conferences, and continuing education courses; and produces electronic educational products, including satellite TV seminars, videos, and video and CD-ROM discs.
