The painting "Curandera" is a very colorful painting because a Curanders is a beautiful person. The different symbols in the painting are the three hearts which are located on the Curandera with people in them. The different plants and flowers are found all over the top of the painting and going through the Curandera. The flying head is found in the top left hand corner looking at the Curandera with wings coming out the side of the head with a cross on its cheek. The person getting cured is found right in front of the Curandera with three lines on his face like he is crying. The diamonds are found all over the top of the painting. The eyes are located at the top right hand corner. The body is under and connected to the Curandera.
The three hearts can mean that her heart is as big as three. The people could mean who she loves the most or who loves her. The plants and flowers are the different herbs she needs. The flying head could be her guarding angle. The other person with the three lines on its face could be a person crying because he is sick and the Curandera is curing him. The diamonds are the cure (like sprinkles) you can see. The eyes are there because the Curandera can see everything. The body beneath the ground could be mother nature helping the Curandera cure the sick man.
All these symbols are important, because they all stand for something. For example, the eyes are there because the Curandera can see everything, because she needs to see everything, so she will know where she needs to be and when she needs to be there. Another example is the flying head, the flying head could be like the spirit who helps her when she doesn't know which cure to give. Being that there are so many things that she stands for, that makes her a very special person. Without the symbols you wouldn't know what she stood for and in the painting there would just be a lady. Since a painting is suppose to be worth a thousand words and with just a lady you wouldnÕt know anything about her.
