Curandera

by Calvin

There are a lot of interesting symbols in the "Curandera." The diamonds are falling from the mouth of the flying face. The face with the wings is on the left side of the Curandera and above the little boy head. The little boy is crying in front of the Curandera legs and he getting blessed by the falling diamonds. The Curandera is connected to the earth, the plants, and flowers. The people in the background are the helpers for the Curandera. The three large hearts are symbols of love and the people inside the hearts can be people she loves or people who died. These symbols have difference meanings. They are very powerful. The plants growing througout the body are nurishment to let the curandera grown. The stuff underneath is the Curandera's connection from the Earth.

The diamonds are the cure to help people. The face with wings are the Curandera's eyes that know what is happening far away and also is her guard. Plants growing from the curandera body are very full with power to cure people. The people in the back ground and the little boy in front of the curandera are getting cured. The plants and flowers are the connection the curandera has to the earth. The plants and flowers are powerful cures. I think that means a lot to her.

The symbols were very helpful. Without the symbols there would not be a story. The painter did a really good job. She let you know what the point of the story is. The painter use lots of different symbols in the picture.
