Studying The Works Of Michael Ray Charles

  1. Michael Ray Charles was born in Louisiana in 1967. As an undergraduate, he studied advertising and was a college basketball star. In 1993 he received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston. The two paintings at the left are early works, done before Michael Ray Charles took a serious interest in stereotypes of African Americans. Look at them carefully, and tell what makes them traditional.
