The Stanford 9 Debate

RECENTLY RELEASED STANFORD 9 standardized test scores indicate that English-speaking students performed near the national average on reading and mathematics in lower grades, but reading performance is below average in high schools.

Scores do not include the one-in-five test takers the state classifies as limited English-speaking. A San Francisco judge ordered state officials last week not to release those scores in response to petitions from the Berkeley and Oakland school districts who said the inclusion of those scores would skew the results.

Read the full story in articles from the L.A. Times and the Sacramento Bee and check out the scores at the California Department of Education Website.
