Quality on the Web

TECHNOLOGY HAS, IN MANY WAYS, BEEN A BOON to the information seeker. There now exists untold numbers of sources for information, whether it be books, CD-ROM products, or Internet Web sites, just to name a few. The ease with which technology has made it possible to publish information has certain drawbacks, however.

There are currently several million Web pages available, published by everyone from the third-grade student who lives down the street from you to the United States government. Naturally, some of these sources are going to be more reliable in their information than others. This leads to the problem of how to go about evaluating the authority of the information that you locate on the Internet.
