The Wired Classroom

ACCORDING TO A RECENT POLL released by the MCI Corp., the percentage of schools and instructional classrooms in the United States with access to the Internet has more than proportionately doubled since 1994.

Additionally, the same poll found that many teachers feel Internet use in the classroom is critical for preparing students for the future and that it should be used to teach core subjects. On the other hand, while many teachers are hungry for online content, they are frustrated by how hard it is to find quality material.

Read the full story of how and why more schools and classrooms are gaining access to the Internet in Education Week.
