Celebrate Black History

FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH and Social Studies School Service has created a Web site to help bring African-American history to your classroom via the Internet.

Online activities guide students to specific Web sites and ask them to consider, analyze, and report on various topics. A comprehensive teacher's guide for the film Amistad and Web links to other African-American history sites are also available.

Also visit Pacific Bell's Black History Web site, which features five activities created as models for integrating the World Wide Web and videoconferencing into classroom learning. Sharpen your knowledge of African-American history by taking the African-American History Challenge.
