Recognizing Excellence

Outstanding teachers, schools and school communities were honored Thursday by the Los Angeles Educational Partnership for exemplary practices that achieve results and show that excellence is possible in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) schools.

Nearly 400 invited guests gathered at the awards recognition dinner at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel and paid tribute to the recipients of the second annual LAEP Excellence Awards. Up to $10,000 was awarded to eight teams of teachers; four schools, and three school communities that have had a positive measurable impact on student learning and achievement.

LAUSD Board President Genethia Hayes, in a speech congratulating the recipients, said, "It is wonderful to see the examples of excellence gathered in this room. It is a tribute to dedicated, outstanding educators in the LAUSD."
