Updated 5:00 p.m. PDT Science Teachers Dissatisfied With Jobs, Survey Finds
SCIENCE TEACHERS of just about every experience level aren't satisfied with their jobs and are thinking about leaving the profession, a national survey suggests.
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), an organization dedicated to improving science education, released the results of a nationwide survey of the qualifications, teaching assignments, and job satisfaction of a random sample of middle level and high school science teachers.
One of the survey's most notable findings is that at all levels of teaching experience, large numbers of the teachers surveyed are considering leaving the profession, citing their dissatisfaction as a direct result of the school environment in which they work.
